How do I get on your reservation list for a puppy and how does that work?
We are always accepting deposits for our future litters. We have one reservation list for our mini Aussiedoodles and one for our mini Bernedoodles. To add your name to the lists, the first step is to submit the ‘reservation list agreement’ form on our website. After submitting, you can send the $500 nonrefundable deposit with Zelle. When we receive your deposit, we will be sure to confirm and your name will be added to your choice of either the Mini Aussiedoodle or Mini Bernedoodle list, which is ranked in the order of deposits received (please note that U.Q. has the right to the first pick of the litter for whatever reason if needed). Because the first few days of a puppy’s life can be fragile and they require our undivided attention, we like to wait up to 1-2 weeks after they are born before we notify people on the list. We will then notify the select number of families who will be given the opportunity to apply their deposit to that litter based on the amount of puppies for that litter. Puppy selections start when they are 6 weeks old. We will contact you by phone or email so please keep your contact information current. We will have a specific date and timeframe for you to make your selection, if you do not respond with your pick in that time frame we will move on to the next person on the list. Everyone is anxious to choose a puppy so please make note of the timing of the adoption date. Once it is your turn to pick and you choose to wait for another litter, for whatever reason, that is fine, by passing on a litter you will not forfeit your original wait list placement and will continue to move closer to the top of the list, but after you pick your specific puppy it is no longer transferable. If you decide to pass on a litter and prices change before the next chance to choose, you will be charged the new price. Also your deposit will expire after 2 years. Please understand that when placing a deposit that us projecting future litters is an educated guess and dogs don’t always cycle at the exact same time and sometimes they do have miscarriages or false pregnancies. We also cannot guarantee the amount of puppies they will have to know if there will be enough puppies to reach your pick. Also, please understand that the deposits are nonrefundable. This shows us that you are committed to buying a happy, healthy puppy from Unique Canines. We look forward to communicating with you! Also, please follow us on Instagram and Facebook for pregnancy, birth announcements and other posts.

What are the differences between the Aussiedoodle and Bernedoodle?

Each puppy's temperament will depend on each puppy rather than the exact breed, as these breeds have similar characteristics. Generally, our Aussiedoodles are recommended for those who are looking for an active dog. Bernedoodles are great for those who want a Doodle on the calmer side.

Please keep in mind energy level will vary and will depend on your particular puppy as it depends a lot on how much of the poodle trait each puppy inherits.

The Bernedoodle

Coat: Bernedoodles can have a straight, wavy, or curly coat depending on each individual puppy. They are low to non shedding.

Their coat will require frequent brushing when grown out and is fairly easy to maintain when trimmed. A Bernedoodle's coat is different than a double coated dog and can be shaved without damaging the hair. We recommend daily brushing and professional grooming every 6-8 weeks to avoid tangles and matting.

Size: Our Standard Bernedoodles generally range between 60-90+ pounds. Our Mini Bernedoodles generally range between 20-45 pounds..

Temperament: The Bernedoodle is a happy-go-lucky breed who is loyal, laid back and generally do great with kids of all ages. They are social and love being around their humans.

Training: Bernedoodles are intelligent and training should be done with rewards, firmness, patience, and consistency. Basic training should start as soon as you take your Bernedoodle puppy home.

Activity: The Bernedoodle is an easy going breed who will need daily walks and exercise. They will require mental stimulation to prevent boredom and destruction in the home. They have a medium energy level and are perfect for those who like to get outdoors but also enjoy lounging around the house.

The Aussiedoodle

Coat: Aussiedoodles can have a straight, wavy, or curly coat depending on each individual puppy. They are low to non shedding.Their coat will require frequent brushing when grown out and is fairly easy to maintain when trimmed. An Aussiedoodle's coat is different than a double coated dog and can be shaved without damaging the hair. We recommend daily brushing and professional grooming every 6-8 weeks to avoid tangles and matting.

Size: Our Aussiedoodles generally range between 10-25+ pounds.

Temperament: Aussiedoodles make outstanding family pets and are generally great with children of all sizes. They are sweet, outgoing dogs who are full of life! The Aussiedoodle is a highly intelligent and friendly dog. They are very family orientated and love spending time with their people. Aussiedoodles are often used as service or therapy dogs due to their lovable nature and their training ability. They are a well rounded breed who love to get outside and play but can be just as content to lay at your feet.

Training: Aussiedoodles are extremely smart and eager to please. Training should be done with rewards, firmness, patience and consistency. Both of the breeds used to create the Aussiedoodle are considered to be canine Einsteins, making this one super smart cross-breed. Basic training such as "sit", "come", "stay" etc. should start as soon as you take your Aussiedoodle home to insure your puppy starts off on the right foot. It is important to crate train your Aussiedoodle when they are young so that they don't become destructive in your home and are reliable with potty training.

Activity: Aussiedoodles require exercise and mental stimulation to prevent boredom and getting into trouble. They will do well in any living situation provided that their needs are sufficiently met. They will do best if given daily walks and playtime. Most Aussiedoodles enjoy swimming, going on hikes, and excel in agility. Aussiedoodles have a medium to high energy level and are best for those who live an active lifestyle.

What are the different characteristics between male and female?

There is not a major difference between the genders. Males tend to be more affectionate, goofy, but also a bit more stubborn. Females tend to be more independent but easier to train and less stubborn. These differences are actually quite subtle, and both males and females make amazing pets. We think temperament is more important than gender when matching dogs to owners.
